Michigan Elder Law & Estate Planning

Help for Michigan Seniors on Estate Planning, Disability Planning, Medicaid and Nursing Homes

About

My name is Jerrold Bartholomew and I am an attorney practicing elder law in Michigan. My hope is that this blog will be a resource to those trying to navigate long-term care options in Michigan, as well as to other attorneys and health care providers.

I practice in the northern Metro Detroit area with the law firm of Heritage Elder Law and Planning. In addition to state and local bar associations, I am a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and the National Lawyers Association. I am dedicated to trying to give seniors the information they need to make sound decisions and reduce their chances of being vulnerable to those who would take advantage of them. I regard myself as an advocate for the disabled, particularly those requiring long-term medical care.

My wife Jen and I have six terrific children whom we enjoy tremendously, as well as a wonderful Catholic parish in which to raise them. The rest of my time is filled with reading, clay target shooting, Mexican and Italian food, epic poetry, getting to know local seniors, and trying to work the energy out of our beloved Labrador and Golden Retrievers.

If you have a question regarding your or your family member’s elder care circumstances, please email to reach me directly. You can also reach me by telephone toll free at 877-731-4357. I will gladly answer your legal questions and give you honest feedback on your situation. If your question is not of a legal nature, I will do my best to find the answers for you or direct you to someone who can.
